Gippy gives another boxoffice hit with Ardaas Karaan

With back to back releases in the Punjab Entertainment Industry, there is no doubt that the audience has a certain level of expectations when it comes to the content that the artists have to offer. However, Ardaas Karaan hitting the cinema halls since 19th July 2019 is one exceptional movie that has been enjoyed by the youth as well as the older generation. It is shocking that a movie with philosophical aspect is enjoyed by the kids too. Talking about the sequel to the big hit Ardaas of 2016, the star cast comprising of Gippy Grewal, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Japji Khaira, Sapna Pabbi, Sardar Sohi, Yograj Singh, Sargun Mehta, Meher Vij, Qayyum Ansari, Malkeet Rauni, Kuljinder Singh Sidhu, and Rana Jung Bhadur is a well chosen one. The movie has become B-Town ruler, with many opting to enjoy it not only on weekends but also on weekdays.

A Humble Motion Pictures production, the movie explores the generation gap, a common problem faced by many families. Focusing on the lives of three elderly men and their families residing in Canada, they realise that every generation has a different viewpoint and this leads to a conflict in the opinions messing their lives. The three aged men speculate that not spending adequate time with their families and communicating would help eliminate the differences. Every time the family decides to spend quality time together, they end up arguing and cancelling everything. As the time passes, the three elderly gentlemen one fine day cross paths with Sehaj and Magic. The two kids who are full of positivity, agree to help their families understand each other better but within one week. The movie is full of suspense whether Sehaj and Magic are able to unite the three differing generations to live together in harmony? It is about time that you find out how they use Ardaas(Prayer) to convey their message about life?

While the makers stated that the movie was a level up than it's prequel Ardaas, many thought that they were making false claims. However the reviews and the movie proved its worth in the market and stood up as an entity by outdoing all its competitors. The credit for the success of the movie cannot be given to one person since it's an example of phenomenal teamwork. Ardaas Karaan is an outcome of extremely exceptional creative minds that have given such a level of excellence. Overall, the movie is a perfect combination of a peculiar sense of humour with sentimental ups and downs that are solved using enlightening message having the tendency of bringing a change in the lives of those who understand the kernel of this movie. Being a life-changing film, the movie will help you re-analyse your problems with a completely new perspective.

Talking about the reception and it's critical response, The movie was rated a 3/5 stars &  'wonderfully written' by The Telegraph Star. They found the performance of the cast, the music and cinematography 'top-notch'. Through their opinion they stated the movie as a perfect family entertainer. The Tribune gave 3/5 stars and stated that the movie is a 'humorous and philosophical narrative'.

Talking about the box-office hit, the movie till its second weekend, collected ₹ 6.09 crore in Canada and ₹ 2.27 crore in the United States Of America. With ₹ 3.11 crore in Australia and ₹ 89 lakhs in New Zealand, Ardaas Karaan managed ₹ 1.05 crore in United Kingdom and ₹ 7.29 lakhs in Germany.
